FI Tools Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

FI Tools, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("you," "your") and ensuring a safe online experience. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, fitools.com ("Site"), or use our services.

By using FI Tools, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect various types of information to provide and improve our services to you. This includes:

a. Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and any other contact details you provide.
  • Payment Information: We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) to process payments. FI Tools does not store your credit card information, though payment processors may collect information necessary to process payments.

b. Usage Information

  • Log Data: Our servers automatically collect information when you access our Site, including your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and operating system.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, track user activity, and understand usage patterns. You may adjust your browser settings to reject cookies, though certain features of our Site may be affected.

c. Device Information

We may collect device-specific information when you access FI Tools, such as hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, and similar tracking technologies — including technologies provided by third parties such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — to enhance your experience on our Site, understand user behavior, measure and improve our advertising, and improve our services. This section explains the technologies we use, what they send to whom, and your options for managing them.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us remember your preferences and understand how you interact with our Site. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may affect some functionality of our Site. For more information about managing cookies, please visit All About Cookies .

Product Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog, a third-party product analytics service, for usage analytics, session replay, and feature flags. PostHog records information such as the pages you view, clicks and other interactions with page elements, the site or ad that referred you (including campaign parameters in the URL), your IP address, and your browser and device type. Session replay reconstructs a visual playback of your visit so we can diagnose usability problems; we configure it to mask everything you type into form fields (such as your name, email address, and phone number). Selections you make on button-style choices — including the multiple-choice answers in our membership application — are page interactions, and those are captured in analytics events and visible in session replay. PostHog processes this information only on our behalf to help us understand and improve the Site; it is not an advertising platform, and we do not forward your application answers to one (see "What We Do Not Send to Advertising Platforms" below).

PostHog stores its identifiers in both a first-party cookie and your browser's local storage, and its requests are routed through our own domain at fitools.com/ph rather than directly to PostHog's servers, so common tracker blocklists may not block it. Clearing cookies and site data for fitools.com clears these identifiers. To learn more, see PostHog's privacy policy .

Advertising Technologies and the Meta Pixel

We advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), and we use pixels, web beacons, and similar storage technologies from third parties, including Meta, to collect or receive information about your visit for advertising purposes. You consent to this collection and transmission when you use our Site.

In your browser. Our pages load the Meta pixel (fbevents.js from Meta's servers), which sets and reads Meta's own _fbp (browser identifier) and _fbc (ad-click identifier) cookies on fitools.com, and sends Meta a record of standard events: page views, views of key product and application pages, newsletter signups, and application submissions. Each of those events is transmitted along with the Meta cookie identifiers, your IP address, your browser user agent, and the URL of the page you are on. If your browser has JavaScript disabled, a one-pixel image beacon to facebook.com/tr reports the page view instead.

From our servers (Meta Conversions API). We also send the same conversions — newsletter signup, application submitted, application approved, and completed purchase — to Meta directly from our servers through Meta's Conversions API, so that conversions are still measured when a browser blocks the pixel. Alongside each conversion we send your email address hashed with SHA-256, the Meta _fbp and _fbc cookie identifiers described above, a stable pseudonymous customer identifier we generate for you, your IP address and user agent where available, and, for purchases, the amount and currency paid. Browser and server copies of the same conversion carry a shared event identifier so Meta counts them once.

We do not send Meta your plaintext email address. Email addresses are irreversibly hashed with SHA-256 before transmission; Meta uses the hash only to match the conversion to an account it already has.

Purpose. Meta processes this information to measure the performance of our ads, attribute conversions to the ads that produced them, and optimize and target our advertising — including building custom audiences of people who have already interacted with us and lookalike audiences of people who resemble them. We may also use it to exclude existing members from ads intended for new applicants.

Google and Reddit Tags in Our Member App

Our member application at app.fitools.com loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4 (usage analytics), Google Ads conversion tracking (measures signups attributed to our Google ads), and the Reddit pixel (measures visits attributed to our Reddit ads). These tags set their own cookies and receive your IP address, browser user agent, and the pages you visit within the member app. They do not run on the public fitools.com site, and none of them receives your application answers or any of the financial information described in the next section. You can opt out of each using the mechanisms listed under "Your Choices" below.

What We Do Not Send to Advertising Platforms

We do not send Meta, Google, Reddit, or any other advertising platform your answers to our application survey, your financial situation, income, net worth, account balances, holdings, trades, or any portfolio data. We do not send payment card details to anyone other than our payment processor. What advertising platforms receive is limited to the conversion events, identifiers, and technical information described above.

Our own product analytics is different. As described in the PostHog section above, PostHog records your interactions with our pages — including the selections you make in our membership application — as part of usage analytics and session replay. That information is processed on our behalf and under our instructions to operate and improve the Site; we do not forward it to Meta or any other advertising platform.

Meta's use of the information it receives is governed by its own terms and policies. See Meta's Privacy Policy and its Business Tools Terms . For visitors in the European Economic Area, FI Tools and Meta Platforms Ireland are joint controllers under Article 26 GDPR for the collection of this event data and its transmission to Meta; each of us is separately responsible for our own subsequent processing.

Your Choices: Opting Out of Ad Targeting and Analytics

You can opt out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting, and you can access the mechanisms for exercising that choice here:

  • Meta ad settings: control whether Meta uses data from partners like us to show you ads at Facebook Ad Preferences — Ad Settings . Meta explains these controls in About your ad preferences on Facebook .
  • Browser controls: block or delete cookies and site data for fitools.com and facebook.com in your browser settings, or enable your browser's tracking-protection feature. Removing the _fbp and _fbc cookies removes the identifiers used to match your visit to a Meta account.
  • Google and Reddit (member app): block Google Analytics in every browser with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on , control how Google personalizes ads at Google Ads Settings , and control Reddit's use of partner data for ads in your Reddit account's Safety & Privacy settings.
  • PostHog: clearing cookies and local storage for fitools.com resets your PostHog identifiers and session replay recording for that browser. You may also email us at support@fitools.com to request that we stop analytics collection associated with your account.
  • Opting out entirely: email support@fitools.com and we will stop sending your conversions to Meta and ask Meta to delete the event data associated with you.

Opting out of ad targeting does not stop us from providing our services to you, and it does not delete information we hold about you under the rest of this Policy.

How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide and Maintain Services: We use your information to create and manage your account, facilitate transactions, and deliver our services.
  • To Improve Our Services: We analyze usage data to improve the functionality and user experience of FI Tools.
  • To Communicate with You: We may contact you via email to provide updates, respond to inquiries, and inform you about service-related changes.
  • For Security and Legal Compliance: We use information to detect, prevent, and address security incidents and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing of Information

FI Tools does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, such as payment processors (e.g., Stripe), that assist us in delivering services. These providers only have access to information necessary for them to perform their services.
  • With Advertising and Analytics Partners: As described in "Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies" above, we share conversion events, device and cookie identifiers, and a SHA-256 hash of your email address with Meta so we can measure and optimize our advertising; we share visit and conversion data with Google and Reddit through the tags in our member app; and we share usage data with PostHog so we can analyze and improve the Site. We do not receive money for this; some privacy laws nonetheless treat sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising as a "sale" or "share," and you may opt out using the mechanisms listed in that section.
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law, or to respond to legal requests, such as a subpoena or court order.
  • Business Transfers: If FI Tools undergoes a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred to the new entity.

Assumption of Risk

Our Site and services are provided to support your personal research and financial decision-making. However, investing carries inherent risks, and past performance is not a guarantee of future results. FI Tools is not responsible for any losses that may arise from your use of information or insights derived from our platform. You assume all risks associated with using our services for financial decision-making, and we recommend consulting a financial professional before making any investment decisions.

Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. These external sites are not operated by us, and we do not control or assume responsibility for their content, privacy policies, or practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit, as they may collect and use information in ways different from us.

We are committed to protecting your information and take commercially reasonable measures to safeguard the data we collect. This includes implementing physical, administrative, and technical security procedures to reduce the risk of data loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission or storage method is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

Intended Audience and Non-Professional Use Only

FI Tools is designed solely for individual, non-professional (retail) investors who are using the platform for personal financial management and research purposes. The Site and its services are not intended for use by institutional, professional, or registered financial advisors, brokers, or other financial professionals who may require licensing or registration with government regulatory bodies.

By using this Site, you confirm that you are not a professional investor and do not require registration or licensing with any governmental authority or regulatory body (e.g., the SEC, CFTC, or other financial regulatory agencies). If you are a professional investor or otherwise require regulatory registration, you are prohibited from using FI Tools and should refrain from creating an account or using our services.

FI Tools reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that we believe is used in a manner inconsistent with this intended purpose. If we have reason to believe that you are a professional investor or using the Site for commercial purposes, we may terminate your access to FI Tools without notice and, if applicable, issue a refund per our refund policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on our Site and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
